Bently, Stella and Jeanine

Jeanine works with Paul, who adopted Dice and Owen. When she mentioned that she wanted to adopt a kitty, Paul said he had a perfect place to adopt a kitty and recommended us. Thank you Paul. When I told Jeanine about Graeme and explained how he was the motivation for taking in Lucy, and thanked her again for adopting a kitty, she told me I was helping her too. I couldn't imagine how. Then she shared all the grief she has experienced this last two years. She is moving into her own apartment with Bently and Stella to keep her company.

Bently and Stella will be moving to their new apartment at the end of the month. Meanwhile they are having a grand time playing with each other and with Buddy. We bought them a feather toy that they like, but their favorite toy so far is a ratty hair tie that Johnna accidentally left here when she visited on Monday. They also like crumpled up balls of post-it notes. I keep hoping Nico will calm down and start playing with them too, but she is still holding a grudge. She's a little less crabby lately and seems to watch them from a distance.

Because Buddy got so sick, the vet suggested I feed him Kitty Milk Replacement to calm his digestive system and give him the proper nutritional support. He loves it, but Bently and Stella are crazy for it. They hang on to the bottle, growl at each other, and get agressive whenever I give them some. It's pricy though -- $12.00 per can so they aren't getting it as a regular part of their diet.

The vet also suggested I get a hot water bottle for Buddy so his body doesn't have to work to keep him warm. I did that for a couple days. Today I set up the heating pad on warm and covered it with a towel. The kitties love it. I wanted to vacuum this afternoon but the kitties looked too adorable laying on their heating pad fast asleep. I decided vacuuming could wait.

Award for patience

The award for patience goes to Andy dog for putting up with a cat that clawed him in the nose multiple times, to kitties that considered him their surrogate mother and tried to nurse on him.
